By car

To get to me, get off the A6 highway at ‘Almere-Buiten Oost’.

As you can see, from the A6, you take the first roundabout, to the left, direction ‘Stripheldenbuurt’, and after this roundabout there is immediately another roundabout, where you again turn to the left. After a few hundred meters, you see four concrete pillars marking the road on the right. Take this right turn, and simply drive straight ahead through the city block, until you can’t go any further. (A reserved bus lane lies there.) Turn left, and drive along the bus lane for a hundred meters until you can turn right, and cross the bus lane. Immediatly after you crossed the bus lane, turn left again, so yo drive on the other side of the bus lane. The A-Complex, where I live, is the big yellow-brick/black-roof building block to your right. My house is somewhere in the middle. There is usually enough room to park right in front of my house.

By train: Public transport in Almere-Buiten

The nearest railway station is ‘Almere Oostvaarders‘. A Connexxion bus (Line 1) travels between this station and the ‘Stripheldenbuurt Oost‘ . You should get off at bus stop ‘Stripheldenbuurt Midden’, which is right where I live. My house is just a 140 meter walk away from this bus stop. From the bus stop, just walk to the crossing. You see a colorful school on your right, and the yellow ‘Kick Wilstraplantsoen’ street block on your left. Within a few meters you can turn left again and you are in the Kick Wilstraplantsoen street. My house is somewhere in the middle.

Alternatively, you can travel to central railway station of Almere, ‘Almere Centrum’, and take bus line 1 from there to ‘Stripheldenbuurt Oost’. This is a bit more cumbersome, ofcourse. To view the bus/train situation in Almere, check out this little map. Note that this map does not show ‘Stripheldenbuurt Oos’ for line 1 after ‘Almere Oostvaarders’, but it’s an old map, the bus stop is really there.

You will probably not need it, but because ‘Almere Oostvaarders’ is a P+R location (Parkeer+Reis), it has free parking and a rather good train connectivity with serveral important destinations in Amsterdam, and Utrecht (’Utrecht Centraal’ station).
