Fire Totem

I made the Fire Totem in WoW. It’s nice, you can see some action shots from it in the screenshot. The first screenshot however only shows the usage of two totems at the same time, a stoneskin-totem and a fire-totem.

Totems:

Fire Nova Totem: Summons a totem that has 5 health and lasts 5 sec. Unless it is destroyed within 4 sec., the totem inflicts 102 to 116 fire damage to enemies within 10 yd.
Stoneskin Totem: Summons a totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem protects party members within 20 yards, reducing melee damage taken by 3. Lasts 45 sec.

Mongolia gives Bush taste of nomadic life

November 21, 2005 on 1:04 pm | In .english, news | No Comments

Today, Bush visited Mongolia, and generally had a good time. He even visited a Ger.

Good vibes even gave him the inspiration to say things like : “Like the ideology of communism, the ideology of Islamic radicalism is destined to fail, because the will to power is no match for the universal desire to live in freedom.”.

Ofcourse, It would be impossible for him to pass even one day without talking in terms of enemies, war, or weapons. This day is no exception, but the statement that the ‘will to power’ (Nietzsche) is no match for the ‘universal desire to live in freedom’, is actually a nice statement.

We discussed if he himself thought this up, or that someone else told him that this would be a Nice Thing(tm) to say. We couldn’t decide. Nietzsche is common knowledge tho, and I can imagine that he actually thought for himself here.

That would be a first. It doesn’t really matter tho, he will be gone from the White House at some point. Ofcourse the world is just counting the days for that to happen :-)

The future of wiki

I’ve been playing with wikipedia, and was very happy to see that they support LaTeX math in articles now (See my user page) using wikitex.

It’s a tip of the iceberg however. There are many more things possible as you can see in the wikisophia wiki, for example music, graphs, etc etc. See my user page, for example.

It is even possible to do mathematica withing a wiki: mathematica-users.org.

Nooit meer haast (Never hurry again)

November 6, 2005 on 3:00 pm | In .english, personal | No Comments

first pitch“Nooit meer haast” is Dutch for “Never hurry again”. I’ve been checking out the latest version of nooitmeerhaast.nl (English content) to see how they are coming along. It’s a good site, and I’m able to find what I want on it. (*Shameless plug* itarp emergency relief tent initiative. )

What do they do? They build, rent and sell ‘Ger’ tents, and generally know everything about them. Ger is the mongolian word for yurt. A Ger is a nomadic home, in essence. Well duh, it’s a tent :-)

printing bookIt may be a tent, but it’s perfect for a low-profile, nomadic lifestyle. These kinds of Gers are made from biologically sound materials. And because they are so low-profile, they dramatically reduce the impact of living onto the environment. But they are really not too primitive. They are perfect insulators, because they are made from felt. They can withstand winter colds and summer heats perfectly.

New hunting grounds at Undercity

November 6, 2005 on 3:24 am | In wow, .english | No Comments

There are some nice level8+ monsters near Undercity, and some good loot at the farms. Near Bloodhoof village only the Kodo’s are challenging kills. Got a shitload of quests to do at Bloodhoof village tho.
